When my door slammed behind me without my keys, I called Pacific Locksmith (also known as AAA Locksmith Inc.).
Promptness: Girl on the phone said they could get to my house within half an hour, so I sat and waited. 40 minutes later the locksmith called to say he would be there in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later he showed up.
Price: Over the phone the girl quoted me an estimate of $50 ($29 for the drive out, and actual unlocking starting from $20). She did say the price could vary depending on unlocking necessary. When the locksmith finally came out, he had my lock picked before I could even sign the receipt, which had a total of $149. He said if he had needed to unscrew the lock, the price would have been $189 (Surprisingly low considering unscrewing could take 10 minutes, instead of the 10 seconds it took him to pick my lock). Apparently the price is determined by your brand of lock. I could have easily provided the dispatcher with this information for a fair estimate.
Service: Apart from the lateness and highway robbery of people in a bind, the locksmith was pleasant, and took more time processing my credit card than opening my door.
