I was referred to Allen & Sons through Kitchen Aid after my two year old appliance developed a failed control board. Allen & Sons came out three times before they were able to actually fix the problem. On the initial visit, they charged $45 to diagnose the problem, even though this had already been diagnosed by Kitchen Aid. On the second visit, they arrived with the wrong part. On the third visit, they arrived with the correct part, repaired the microwave, but failed to re-attach the vent hood on top. It was later noted that they had broken both clips used to re-attach the air vent, so my husband had to go buy new clips and repair this himself. They attempted to charge us $50 more than the original estimate, denying that we gave them a down payment, despite the fact that my husband showed them the written receipt in their writing of the deposit, and showed them his check which had already been cashed by their company. Then they tried to say that they had given us a discount previously, but this discount no longer applied, so we still owed them another $50. My husband got into an argument with them over changing the price, and the technicians left abruptly with our check and stole an item out of our house as they exited. I reported this to the supervisor at Allen & Sons but have not received a response back. I have since filed a police report. Do not do business with this company. They are dishonest, do poor work, and change the prices from what was originally quoted. Worst of all, they have stolen an item out of our home. Read the other poor reviews online.
