I moved to Vegas in July 2008. I will not elaborate on the initial move as it has been over 12 months, but I will elaborate on the refund that to this day has not been granted. They claimed that my items weighed 1200 lbs more than they actually did. In order to prove this, I had to pay in full and have them weigh the truck before and after they unloaded my items. My items weighed 1183 lbs less than they claimed they did and in order to get my money back, i would have to file an insurance claim. For what? I didn't understand why they couldn't just do the math and credit it to my card. They told me to file the claim and hung up on me.
So I file this claim and Anthem claims (I won't go into detail on their service. I will save that for their page) asked me for a copy of my bill of lading. Bill of Lading? I didn't even know what that was. After contacting Authorized Movers over 50 times, I finally got a call back and was emailed a copy of the Bill of Lading. This was in September 2009! This was after letters and emails and voicemails stating I would get a lawyer. It took them over a year to contact me!
Anthems files my claim for about 200 less than it should have been and sends me a request to verify the information, have it notified, and sent back in order for me to receive my check. I do it and smart 'ol me makes sure that I have signature verification for the packages delivered. The letter was received. I contacted Anthems in October after the letter had been received and asked the status of my check. They told me that they Authorized Movers requested all claims be mailed to them . This was already a bad sign. Were they running? My guess is yes. I have been calling them for almost 3 months now and with no call back or response. Today I call and all of their numbers have been disconnected. I am out almost 900 dollars of my hard earned money, and from reading previous reviews, they have "miscalculated" the weight of many people's move and overcharged them without refunding.
