HCM Client for 14 Years (1990-2004) Don't Do It !!!
|
I was an HCM client for 14 years (1990-2004). In the early days, the hairpieces were very detectable, you were encouraged to keep some frontal hair to camouflage the units if possible. They attached the units with the "braid", meaning they kind of braided the hair together with your own. This sounds okay, but it put stress on your hair (until it could fall out), was painful, and was detectable to the touch. While all this "early days" stuff sounds awful, the company was a much better deal for the clients back then. You bought 2 systems for $1000 each (yeah HCM got them for pennies), but they lasted 5 years! I would send them back for hair adds a few times a year for a nominal fee. So the only thing I paid for was a service to re-braid the hair $65 every 6 weeks or so. In the mid 90s, the polyfuse (i.e. glue) became popular, and more undetectable units, but along came the PROGRAMS, where you paid a mortgage payment each month in addition to services. I NEVER WENT ON A PROGRAM. When it became clear the old model would not work any more, I moved on to ordering on line. Now I do everything myself (even cut). I pay literally a few hundred bucks for the entire year ordering on line. Check out www.hairpiecewarehouse.com, the pricing really is unreal.
