1) After trying to get a modification with the bank and also dealing with NACA, I thought maybe an attorney would help. When you first call you reach a salesman who tried to hook you onto the service. He ask all the right questions and seems to show concern, but that is basically to get you hooked and he will E-mail you forms to sign and get a retainer up front.
2) You never really talk to an attorney, you deal with a loan modification expert. Why they seem OK, they don't do anymore for you than you could do yourself.
3) If your property is not underwater, don't even bother trying a loan mod.
4) Call HUD, I did after not get a modification with The Krup Group. While things did not work out, at least they were able to get me a proposal and it wouldn't have cost almost $3,000.
