Worst move experience ever. They have a bait and switch approach to pricing, customer service, and delivery guarantees. I slapped with numerous hidden cost. Baron the sales agent who I see also other people have complained about in other reviews is dishonest. The Company operates with no sense of moral citizenship.
I filed a complaint because I would like something to be done because of the economy many families are having to relocate for a number of reasons such as layoff. Companies like this one, who are dishonest, and operate with no sense of moral citizenship can cause serious stress on a family as well as unplanned financial burden.
The owner (Dan) was not responsive. I selected Mega Moving and Storage Moving Company in April for a furniture delivery on June 13, 2009. Baron, the agent, indicated that since I called so far in advance they would be able to guarantee delivery by the specified date and the original price ($1114.00) would not change.
I selected them and I followed about 2 weeks before pick up and again 1-week prior. I was told that I would get a call the day before pick up, which did not happen. They called the day of at 10am to tell me that they arrive at 4pm. They arrived at 7:30pm and finished after 9:30pm. The Company charged me an additional $400.00+ for items that were on the inventory . I am 100% positive that I spoke with Baron about all items and the driver acted as if he was completely unaware and threatened not to pick up my furniture if I did not pay. I called the next day to clear things up and was avoided by Baron who was aware of our prior discussion. I was never rude, once they had my money everything changed I was avoided and it was impossible to reach anyone.
The delivery was a week late. They arrived at 9:30pm and finished around 12am on a work night. In both cases they attempted to charge me additional for"long-carry" which is more than 75 feet. During pick up the distance was 35 feet I measured it. They tried to charge me $2,000.00 once I learned that my furtniture would not be delivered on the guanranteed date.
Please select a more accredited Company huge mistake on my part.
