I have bought many cruises from Online Vacation Center, usually buying my travel insurance separately. Beware...This time I bought the insurance that Online Vacation Center was offering, but the agent did not process it correctly, causing the insurance to be almost worthless to me because her error negated the coverage of prior medical conditions that is very important to anyone buying travel insurance. One of my party became ill and had to cancel prior to sailing, and the insurance refused payment. My OVC agent asked for my credit card info early, but promised to wait until the last day to process my final payment, as I was still studying the insurance options. My agent admitted to the insurance that she "misunderstood how the insurance worked" (insurance has to be paid for within 24 hrs of final cruise payment), and the agent processed my final cruise payment 3 days prior to her submitting the insurance. This was contrary to my explicit instructions to her to wait till the final day. Also the ONline Vacation Center agents refused to connect me with their customer service and when I finally got the number and left messages on the customer service voice mail, it took about 15 calls to get them to respond, which was a worthless email. They only asked me to reapply for a refund from the insurance, which took me another 3 hrs. and was rejected. The error was clearly OVC's mistake and they should reimburse me for cruise, airfare, hotel and all insurance costs. I took 3 people on a cruise to Egypt, thinking I had full travel coverage for emergencies when I did not.
