This company's advertisement about cancelling without obligations is completely FALSE. I agreed to the package to be sent to my house for a price of $24.95. I was informed, if I would not be interested in the business, to call and cancel within 30 days. I specifically asked if I had to return the catalogs, and the live representative said NO, that a phone call would be sufficient, and the conversation was being recorded as well. Prior to 30 days, after a very lengthy phone tree, I found someone to discuss cancellation. The live representative said that I would have to send the package back to them to cancel my membership. I had already disposed of the catalogs and paperwork, since it did not interested me AND since I was told BY A LIVE REPRESENTATIVE, during the very first phone conversation, that I DID OT HAVE TO RETURN ANYTHING BACK!!!!. SMC said they would pull the recorded tape to confirm that what I was saying was true. I never heard back from them again! Yesterday, 5/3/2011, I had a charge made to my account of $39.95. Obviously, I called the number on my statement, and cannot talk to a supervisor. The live representative says that SMC pulled the tape and what I am saying is NOT VALID! The same live representative told me for $10.00, I could forget the whole contract and we would call it even!!! SERIOSLY????? They want me to spend more money to cancel the contract AND they won't refund me the money!!! They are just trying to make money off of people!!!!!
