I was contacted by this company saying that I won a raffle that had happened at a Boston Beer Festival in which I entered my name. They said the raffle that I won was for a vacation package, and in order for me to accept it I would have to pay $398 in taxes. I remember entering into the raffle so I thought it was legitimate, and paid the $398.
About 2 weeks later I finally received these vacation vouchers that were printed out on a regular laser jet and things seemed off, so I tried to book some of the vacations. I was notified that blackout dates go from November through May and could travel, but would have to pay extra. When I tried to book one portion (which was an all inclusive cruise) for a non-blackout date, I was told the only all inclusive part is on the boat, while on the island I have to take care of everything myself, and the hotel is a good half an hour away from anything and it would be another $400 to upgrade to something that I wouldn't have to find transportation for. I told them I wanted to stick with the normal room and I can figure something out, and then I was told that I had to pay another $200 per person as a "port fee" and then I also had to pay the hotel even more tax. I tried to return it but they are using a 30 day refund policy to block me from getting any of my money back. This is by far the biggest scam I have ever come across. Right now I am trying to find a way to get my money back, anybody with any advice would be much appreciated.
