Tonkin Plumbing was the warranty service provider for our water heater. When the unit failed their tech showed up, told us it was a lousy product and proceeded to replace a part - charging us $125 for his labor. The next day the heater still didn't work and it turns out Tonkin didn't have all the parts in stock, so they had installed what they had. The tech came out a few days later, installed the next part and charged another $125. Still no luck. Calls to the manufacturer revealed that Tonkin was not performing the right tests or replacing the right pieces. With the manufacturer's help my wife found the problem and the manufacturer mailed us the right piece for free. Several calls to Tonkin went un-returned and when I finally got an answer it was: "Sure, we'll replace that part. It's going to cost another $125."
