THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE AN "A" RATING - If you have a choice .... stay away from Tracfone !!!! Government's SAFE LINK program is administered by Tracfone - big mistake. People who rely on service are being cheated and caused extra expense. When I most needed phone service I didn't have it available.

After qualifying, my SAFE LINK cell phone was sent to me. I used it until the free government minutes expired. Normally the government minutes would have been enough, but my mother was ill and moved to a nursing home causing extra phone calls.

Bought 60 extra minutes and a "double minutes" feature from Tracfone not knowing what my phone needs would be going forward. Two days after spending approx. $45 my service was disconnected. Called Tracfone to find out their records showed it "stolen" - truth being - THEY had sent me a phone registered to someone else. It is extremely hard to understand the "english" that their people speak - thick accents suggest the work has been outsourced by our own government, who says "jobs" for America's unemployed are top priority.

Their people are poorly trained with the MOST annoying habit of asking for the Serial Number (behind battery) and really wanting the IMEI number. They transfer you to inappropriate departments who ask for the same information you just gave the previous person. Numerous times you are told they cannot help you; and you are transferred again (until you almost hang up and go away)....

You MUST be PERSISTENT with these people ....

Get names & ticket / reference / interaction numbers as documentation for callbacks. Took as much as I could for one day and called back another day to spend yet more HOURS repeating information that should have been recorded in the documentation from the PREVIOUS DAY. After several transfers to "higher level" people at, my request, they agreed to send another phone as a "replacement".

Replacement phone arrives a week later. Already spent little more than 1 week without a phone; so now it's been 2 weeks. Another challenge begins - getting the airtime & double minutes (60 + 60) purchased transferred to the "replacement" phone.....

You HAVE to be PERSISTENT with these people......

After they say they cannot transfer the minutes from a phone with discontinued service due to "stolen" status YOU MUST ask to speak to their Supervisor. The Supervisor did transfer the 60 minutes, but would not apply the "double minutes" card I had purchased the same day I purchased the 60 minutes. By now so much time has gone by that my Mother has passed away; and I won't need the minutes "doubled" anyway, so I ask for a REFUND of the $24.95 for the doubling feature, but was refused. Offered to send back the phone with the doubling feature applied, but was refused .... they prefer to keep your money and provide NO service or value for the feature purchased. Time spent with this Company trying to resolve problems caused by THEM SENDING THE WRONG PHONE should be compensated someway. Our tax dollars are being sent to this Company to provide THIS kind of stressful and ineffective "benefit" to the already stressed-out, downtrodden Americans.
