It's a long long road to timeshare freedom

We started the process by attending a presentation in May 2011, and paid $7k+ right then to offload 2 timeshares. We are still waiting for the process to be completed. Responses to our requests for updates have been received from the transfer companies who are dealing with the resorts, saying that the paperwork was submitted to the resorts, and it takes several weeks to get that done. However, the 2 resorts are now sending us dunning letters & phone calls for 2012 maintenance fees. We really did not expect that 10 months later we would still be waiting for a resolution, and it is beginning to test our patience. We don't think that it is necessarily the fault of Transfer America, but the transfer process itself. We would have appreciated some response from TA to our inquiries, but so far that is not forthcoming. Hopefully we will be updating this post with a "Halleluja, we are free" edition very soon.
