Review 5/8/2008
June 25 I brought my dog Peanut in to see Dr. Cox at Valley Animal hospital because of excessive urinating and thirst. He had been vomiting and not eating. Dr. Cox was his vet for the 7 yrs of his life. He said it sounds like he has diabetus. I left him there over night for them to do a blood test. They didn't do the blood test till the following morning and I beleive Peanut being in a strange place did not eat. So he was dehydrated. I went to pick him up the next morning. they gave him an insulin shot on an empty stomach. Within hours I saw my dogs health deteriorate before my eyes. I rushed him to ER and the vet there said he is gravely ill. I asked the DR there "why did Dr. Cox give him an insulin shot on an empty stomach? He said I don't know. They tried to save him there at ER but he died a few hours later. I sent a letter to the Veterinary Medical Board in Sacramento and they conducted an investigation. I got a letter back from them on May 8, 2008 they said they found him guilty of negligence in the treatment he administered to my dog. they fined him $501 and gave him a warning. It won't bring my baby back but I hope that it might save another dog from dying.
Sincerely,
Joan Marchesano
